St. Tammany Parish Debuts New Tourism Branding

“Visit the Northshore” Welcomes Visitors and Residents to “Louisiana’s Easy Escape”

Mandeville, Louisiana (June 15, 2023) – Today the St. Tammany Parish Tourist & Convention Commission announced to its tourism partners, local officials and other key stakeholders that it has officially rebranded as “Visit The Northshore.” As part of this new identity, the organization revealed a new logo, tagline, color scheme and tourism-related designs. At the core of this rebranding initiative was the desire to capture the feeling that visitors get when they experience the destination.

“Visit The Northshore is a new, overarching brand that lets you know that we’re an easy and accessible escape for travelers coming from near and far, but also a place that ensures special experiences for its residents, too,” said Donna O’Daniels, the President and CEO of Visit The Northshore. “This destination delivers world-class service, unique dining and aspirational adventures for all. We’re easy to discover but incredibly hard to leave, and that’s the concept we hope to convey with this new brand.”

Visit The Northshore’s tagline, “Louisiana’s Easy Escape,” is a statement that is both relaxing and refreshing, a reminder that The Northshore is a destination that gives much, takes little and allows you to find yourself on a whim or with a plan. Lake Pontchartrain and the other bodies of water that are part of the parish’s tourism experiences earned a starring role in the rebranding effort. No matter where you are in the parish – in any of its eclectic towns – water is never more than 15 minutes away.

In short: Around here, water is life … whether you’re kayaking on it, birdwatching beside it, being inspired by it or enjoying the seafood that comes from it. In fact, since the 1880s the deep-spring water here has been sought out for its restorative purposes. Water that was long thought to calm nerves has always been a key ingredient in one of the parish’s main exports, Abita Beer.

Because water is so important to Visit The Northshore’s identity, the destination’s new logo features a color palette inspired by sunset on Lake Pontchartrain and graphic elements that tie to gentle waves and such community staples as sailboats, crabs and lighthouses.

The new brand is the result of a year-long collaboration between Visit The Northshore and Rhyme & Reason Design, a creative branding firm based in Atlanta. “This transformative rebranding initiative has been a meticulously strategic journey, infused with years of extensive research and a keen understanding of both the dynamic landscape of the industry as well as our own community,” said Katie Guasco, Chief Marketing Officer of Visit The Northshore. “We have diligently collected insights through in-person surveys with visitors and engaged in immersive focus groups with our invaluable stakeholders. Together, we’re proud to have crafted a destination brand promise to deliver the good life, nourish the heart, season the soul and bring communities together.”
