The St. Tammany Art Association hosts three galleries in its historic Art House on Columbia Street, displaying members' works along with invitational group exhibitions, solo retrospectives and juried shows, as well as studio art production space for classes in drawing, painting, wheel-thrown pottery, color theory, photography, fiber arts and more. Admission to galleries and events is free unless otherwise noted. The building is generally open Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Serving as a catalyst for the arts, St. Tammany Art Association (STAA) is a member- and community-supported nonprofit organization that serves the needs of emerging and established artists in the region. The STAA provides arts education to artists of all ages and experience levels through a wide variety of media, exhibition opportunities to artist members and visiting artists, and direct community engagement arts market to the community. It is also the producer of the Covington Art Market/Art under the Oaks, in conjunction with the City of Covington, annual festivals Spring for Art and Fall for Art, and other community activities.
