Milićević Family Vineyards is a new winery and stunning event space in the Money Hill area near Abita Springs, Louisiana. Owned and operated by Ivan Milićević, the first grapes were planted in April of 2015, but the winery got its start in 1950, in Hercegovina, the sun-scorched southern area of Bosnia and Herzogovina, a mountainous part of the former Yugoslavia in Southeast Europe.
Among the grapes he has planted are Blatina, a variety that produces a dark ruby red, spicy wine, and Žilavka, a dry, white wine grape variety, both planted primarily in the Mostar region, whose Mediterranean climate is famed for its fine wines and sun-packed fruits. Milićević Family Vineyards has cows and miniature sheep to keep a natural process of growth and fertilization. The Milićević Signature white and red varietals incorporate other grapes for unique blends.
The vineyard distributes wine directly to restaurants for tastings and offers online sales, shipping across the United States.
