Experience the serenity and peace that a labyrinth brings to the mind and body. Get some light exercise, enjoy nature, reflect and set intentions. A group of community volunteers constructs temporary labyrinths from natural materials (pine needles, pine straw) at different locations around Covington, allowing the public to walk the labyrinth until the materials disintegrate naturally. Visit their Facebook page to see where you can find one.

Labyrinths have long been used for meditation and reflection. Unlike a maze with dead ends and false turns, a labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Community volunteers aim to install a permanent labyrinth next to the Northshore Community Foundation at 806 N. Columbia St., a free, pedestrian-friendly, accessible gathering space surrounded by benches, landscaping and public art.
