St. John’s Coffeehouse and the Northshore Traditional Music Society present an open mic on the last Thursday, of each month, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is free.

The event has featured such singer/songwriters and musicians as Ben Redwine, Patrick Brooks, Cassie Krebs, Timothy Gates, Cashmere Quartet, Dirk Billie, Glen Sigur, Rick Stelma, Emily Smith and numerous others. Enjoy live, acoustic music with a hot mug of coffee or an iced beverage, or join in as a performer by signing up to play.  Artists may perform up to three songs.

St. John's Coffeehouse is located at 535 E. Boston St., the corner of Boston and Columbia Streets in Historic Downtown Covington. In addition to delicious, fresh-roasted coffees, teas, matcha, lemonades, sodas and other drinks, St. John's kitchen serves healthful sandwiches, salads, dressed bagels and soups. Vegan and vegetarian options. St. John's is a hub of activity on any given day, year-round. Regular hours are 7 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday.

The Northshore Traditional Music Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization that promotes traditional music through education, inspiring performances, and opportunities for professional and amateur musicians to make music together in non-commercial settings.
