Celebrate Earth Day at the Louisiana Bicycle Festival return to downtown Abita Springs for its 24th annual festival on Saturday, April 20, 2024, starting at 9 a.m. Admission is free for participants and spectators alike, and no registration is required for paraders.

Events include a bicycle swap meet, auction of vintage, electric, art bike and custom bikes, a kids' race, a bike ride through town and an awards ceremony with prizes for Best Wheelie, Best in Show and others. Fun for the whole family!

Be sure to get breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner while you're in town--within walking distance are Mama D's Pizza and More, Abita Springs Café, Abita Brew Pub, Artigue's Abita Market (grocery/deli), Maple Street Café, and The Juicery.

Each year since 2000, Abita Springs has celebrated pedal power and the creative spirit with the Louisiana Bicycle Festival, a fun and funky, free event created by Ann O'Brien and John Preble of the Abita Mystery House and local cycling enthusiasts. Today, local champion of all things bicycle, Patrick Brooks of Brooks' Bike Shop fame leads the charge. Brooks' bike shops in Covington, Mandeville and Slidell have boosted cycling on the Tammany Trace and surrounding areas by leaps and bounds (or spins).
