The 5th annual Krewe du Pooch dog parade will take place on Saturday, February 24 from 12-5 p.m. Originally scheduled for Feb. 17, the parade was postponed due to anticipated bad weather.

The theme for the walking parade and costume contest will be "Puppy Love". Parade participants – dogs and their owners – are encouraged to dress according to the theme.  Immediately after the parade and costume contest, the fun will continue on the lakefront with pet adoptions with local rescue groups, food and drinks, and fun activities for the whole family!

Not only is Krewe Du Pooch a family-friendly event that supports the local business community, but it is also a touchstone for the Northshore’s animal rescue groups. Dozens of nonprofits, rescue organizations and vendors will exhibit at the event, helping to raise awareness and critical funding for the plight of these animals. Profits from Krewe Du Pooch will be distributed among local and regional animal welfare organizations.

Registration for parade participants is $35 per participating dog. Costume contest participation is automatically included in the parade registration, as contestants will be judged from a viewing stand on the parade route. Vendor applications are also available for local businesses who provide pet-related products and would like to exhibit at the event or walk in the parade itself.
