Live music lovers are in for a treat this spring on The Northshore. Across the parish, you’ll find outdoor concert series that make the most of the season.
Bring a blanket and stretch out on the lawn, or grab a partner and dance under the trees. Some venues are pet- and picnic-friendly—just check their website or Facebook page before you go.
With a mix of genres and performers, there’s something for every kind of music fan, from classic rock to country, soul to singer-songwriters. There’s nothing quite like the sound of live music drifting through spring air, whether it’s a favorite cover or a soon-to-be hit from a local artist.

Bayou Jams in Slidell's Heritage Park
The City of Slidell's Bayou Jam concert series is held on Sunday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Heritage Park, 1701 Bayou Lane. Admission is free.

Mandeville Live! Free Fridays at the Trailhead
Mandeville Live! is a series of free concerts held on Fridays from March through May at the Mandeville Trailhead (675 Lafitte Street), starting at 6:30 p.m. This launch point along the Tammany Trace serves as a hub for special events, live concerts, and seasonal activities throughout the year.

Rockin’ the Rails at Covington Trailhead
Rockin’ the Rails is a free concert series held at the Covington Trailhead (419 N. Hampshire St.) on Thursdays each April. These concerts feature a variety of musical acts and are a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The first concert of the season is held at Rev. Peter Atkins Park, 701 N. Tyler St.

Jazz'n the Vines at Wild Bush Farm & Vineyard in Bush
The Jazz'n the Vines outdoor concert series at Wild Bush Farm + Vineyard offers a delightful evening for a date night, family outing, or gathering with friends. Vineyard wines are available for tasting and purchase, and local food trucks serve up delicious eats. Bring your festival chairs, blankets, and battery-powered candles, but please note that bonfires, pets, sky lanterns, and outside drinks are not permitted. Gates open at 5 p.m., concerts run from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and admission is $12 for ages 12 and up, free for ages 11 and under. Be sure to check out the Tasting Room and Wild Bush's own vintages.

Dew Drop Jazz and Social Hall in Mandeville
The historic Dew Drop is more than a music venue, it is an experience. If you’ve been, you know exactly what we mean. You can feel the history and magic inside. The quaint space fills up quickly, but large crowds overflow in the nearby green spaces to hear the show through open windows.

Sunset at the Landing in Covington
Every third Friday in Covington, you can take in a free concert at the Columbia Street Landing, at the foot of Columbia Street in downtown Covington (100 North Columbia Street.) Here you can listen to local artists play alongside the beautiful Bogue Falaya River at sunset. Artists announced on their Facebook page one or two weeks in advance of each show.
No Worries about the Weather: Indoor Concerts in Slidell and Abita Springs
While these concert series are indoors, we couldn't leave them off this list and and risk your miss out on two venues that feature both local and touring artists from around the country: The Lobby Lounge at The Harbor Center, and Abita Springs Opry at Abita Springs Town Hall.
Lobby Lounge Listening Room Concerts at The Harbor Center, Slidell
An intimate venue within Slidell's Harbor Center, The Lobby Lounge offers a Bohemian-style, smoke-free setting with seating for 118 guests, including tables, sofas, and chairs, reminiscent of classic listening rooms. The venue showcases nationally touring artists across genres such as indie, folk, country, jazz, and blues, performing acoustic or lightly amplified sets. Tickets are available exclusively through advance sales.

Abita Springs Opry at Abita Town Hall
Celebrating Louisiana's rich musical heritage, the Abita Springs Opry presents genres like old-time country, bluegrass, gospel, and Cajun music. Held on the third Saturday of March, April, and May at the Abita Springs Town Hall, tickets are priced at $20 for all ages. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., with shows starting at 7 p.m. Weather permitting, free performances occur on the hall’s front porch from 4:45 to 6:45 p.m. Homemade dinners are available for purchase, supporting the town's cultural programs.
