Visit The Northshore is proud to announce a strong start to 2026, marked by a prestigious Louey Award from the Louisiana Travel Association (LTA) and statewide recognition of its leadership.
At the annual Louey Awards, Visit The Northshore received the Campaign of the Year Award for its innovative and impactful Shore To Be campaign. The award recognizes excellence in tourism marketing across Louisiana and highlights the organization’s continued commitment to strategic storytelling and destination promotion.
Shore To Be was developed to capture the essence of The Northshore, a place where visitors feel connected, delighted, inspired to explore, and completely at ease. Through compelling visuals, authentic experiences, and targeted messaging, the campaign successfully showcased St. Tammany Parish as Louisiana’s Easy Escape, resonating with both regional and national audiences.
This recognition reflects a collaborative effort by the Visit The Northshore team and partners across the parish, showing the power of working together on destination marketing.
In addition to the campaign honor, Visit The Northshore is celebrating a milestone year of leadership from its President & CEO, Donna O’Daniels, who recently completed a successful term as Chairwoman of the Louisiana Travel Association Board. During her tenure, O’Daniels helped guide statewide tourism initiatives, strengthen industry collaboration, and advocate for policies supporting Louisiana’s visitor economy.
In recognition of her leadership and service to the industry, O’Daniels was presented with the Pelican of Distinction Award by Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser — one of the state’s highest honors for tourism professionals. The award acknowledges individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to Louisiana’s tourism industry.
Building on the momentum of Shore To Be, Visit The Northshore has launched its 2026 campaign, Float Awhile, a creative evolution that invites visitors to slow down and immerse themselves in the experiences that define St. Tammany Parish. From sunset sails across Lake Pontchartrain and paddling along the Tchefuncte River to savoring local flavors and celebrating vibrant Mardi Gras traditions, Float Awhile captures the feeling of effortless escape and joyful discovery.
As Louisiana celebrates the Year of the Outdoors, Visit The Northshore remains focused on promoting the parish’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, culinary scene, and year-round events that drive visitation and economic impact.
