St. Tammany restaurants see boom in business during Tammany Taste dining promotion
ST. TAMMANY PARISH, (July 24, 2024) – Get ready for a culinary journey like no other as Visit The Northshore unveils the 2024 Tammany Taste of Summer. The event returns for its 7th year with even more zest and flavor, inviting both residents and visitors to indulge in a month-long celebration of St. Tammany Parish's vibrant food scene from August 1 to August 31, 2024.
Tammany Taste of Summer is more than just great food – it's a celebration of The Northshore community. As diners explore the rich flavors of St. Tammany Parish, they'll also be supporting local businesses and helping to boost the local economy during a traditionally slower season for restaurants. It’s all organized and marketed by Visit The Northshore, St. Tammany Parish’s destination marketing organization.
Visit The Northshore uses a data platform to track visitor spending and 2023 numbers show that August now has the second-highest visitation to food-related points of interest in the parish. The data also shows that visitors spend an average of $78 in that time frame.
This year, Visit The Northshore is thrilled to welcome both beloved staples and exciting new additions to the Tammany Taste lineup. All menus will be pre-fixe style, curated by local chefs to showcase the individual restaurant’s flavor and spirit.
Making its debut in Tammany Taste is Israeli restaurant TAVI which has been generating much excitement among locals and visitors alike.
"Participating in Tammany Taste of Summer isn't just about showcasing our culinary creations; it's about celebrating the vibrant flavors that define our community. At Tavi here on the Northshore, we believe in sharing our passion for food as a way to connect with others and honor our local ingredients. Joining this event isn't just an opportunity—it's a commitment to enriching our shared culinary tapestry and inviting everyone to savor the essence of our combined regions," said Chef Fariz Choumali of Tavi.
Dakota Restaurant, now settled in its new Downtown Covington location, is back and better than ever - ready to impress with its renowned culinary offerings and enticing Tammany Taste Menu. Dakota is offering choices between two fresh summer salads to start, a bacon-wrapped petite filet or bronzed fillet of redfish amandine for main and finishing off with their desert course of either chocolate sheba or a summer berry parfait.
