MANDEVILLE, LA – Life’s a feast on the Northshore, so we’re celebrating with Tammany Taste of Summer and a special Summer Savings Pass sponsored by the St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission. Locals and visitors can save on overnight stays, restaurants, and attractions August 1-September 15, 2022 by accessing a free Tammany Taste of Summer Savings Pass at www.TammanyTaste.com.
“Tammany Taste of Summer has become a flagship event for the Louisiana Northshore. It continues to grow and brings our participating hospitality partners increased revenue at a time of year that is usually challenging for the industry. The St. Tammany Tourist and Convention Commission’s goal remains to support local tourism businesses and create positive economic impact for our area,” says Donna O’Daniels, President and CEO of the St. Tammany Parish Tourist Commission.
The Tammany Taste of Summer program is free for both patrons and participating tourism-related businesses.
Notable Northshore restaurants are eager to welcome Tammany Taste of Summer patrons with inventive, discounted prix fixe menus and other dining discounts in 2022, including Palmettos on the Bayou (Slidell,) The English Tea Room & Eatery (Covington,) Tchefuncte’s Restaurant (Madisonville,) Avila Grill (Mandeville,) Big Mama’s Country Kitchen (Slidell,) Gallagher’s Grill and Gallagher’s on Front Street, to name a few.
Attractions offering great deals include Honey Island Swamp tours, Louisiana Tours and Adventures Pontoon Boat Tours, Global Wildlife Center, Children’s Museum of St. Tammany, Canoe and Trail Adventures, Wild Bush Farm + Vineyard and more!
Northshore hoteliers and bed and breakfast owners are offering cool daily rates for Tammany Taste of Summer visitors. Visitors can book directly from the TammanyTaste.com website and receive discounted room rates at Blue Heron B&B, Annadele’s Restaurant & B&B, De La Bleau B&B, Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites Slidell, Little River Bluffs, Residence Inn by Marriott and other accommodations.
Patrons are now able to register for the program on TammanyTaste.com to access prix fixe menus and deals from participating businesses. Once a user signs up, a link to the Tammany Taste of Summer Savings Pass is emailed and texted to the user who can then save it to the home screen on their mobile phone. Similar to using an app, pass users can easily scroll through prix fixe menus, special room rates and attraction offerings to plan their Northshore experiences. Best of all, they are able to check-in at the business when they redeem an offer.
The Tammany Taste of Summer Savings Pass is implemented through the digital platform Bandwango, which offers capabilities to track the success of the program for participating businesses.
“We’re excited to be in the 5th year of Tammany Taste of Summer and deliver this event to not only our residents but visitors to the area too,” said Sarah Hill, Louisiana Northshore’s Manager of Marketing Strategy & Brand Content. “We want to encourage everyone to try new places or revisit their tried-and-true favorites.”
The first 150 people to redeem offers and check in 5+ more times will receive a free gift, two original art coasters from Mandeville artist Christina Pappion, encouraging patrons to visit multiple businesses and take advantage of the offers. In 2022, the stakes are being raised even higher with a grand prize opportunity. The consumer with the most Tammany Taste redemptions will receive their choice of a dinner for four or a free boat tour.
Nearly 98 percent of the St. Tammany Parish visitors and residents surveyed who signed up for the Summer Savings Pass said they would eat, stay, and play with the program again in 2022.
