Welcome to the official page for the St. Tammany Parish Tourist & Convention Commission and Visitor Center. Just 40 minutes north of New Orleans, the Louisiana Northshore is where New Orleans goes to play outdoors. Discover world-class dining, free concerts and festivals, outdoor adventures, a thriving arts scene and unique destinations.

The Visitor Center, located in Mandeville on Highway 59 just north of Interstate 12 (Exit 65), is home to the offices of the St. Tammany Parish Tourist and Convention Commission. It is open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and closed Saturdays, Sundays, New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Parking is open to most vehicles; however, 18-wheel trucks, trailers, long boats, etc. are not permitted, as turn-around space is too short and narrow. Public areas on Koop Drive can accommodate most vehicles (parking allowed for governmental business only/no overnight parking). The facility offers public restrooms, water fountains, picnic tables, ample seating and a shaded deck. Pets on leash are welcome.

The Visitor Center is a unique, elevated structure built in and among the lush trees and plants of a native swamp, giving you a glimpse of the bounty waiting to be explored in the 80,000 acres of green space and scenic waterways of the Louisiana Northshore. A long boardwalk wraps the building and continues to the grounds of the St. Tammany Parish Administrative Complex on Koop Drive, whose parking lots terminate at the Tammany Trace trailhead, with its Kids Konnection Playground and caboose, Children's Museum of St. Tammany, a small performance amphitheater. The Tammany Trace part of the rails-to-trails network, a 31-mile, paved path for biking and walking (no motorized vehicles permitted). A separate equestrian path parallels the Trace in several places. Pets are not permitted. Visit for details and information on closures.

We invite you to stop by, stretch your legs on the covered boardwalk and pick up information about places to see, play and stay in St. Tammany Parish and across Louisiana. Be sure to pick up our award winning visitor guide, Explore the Northshore, for in-depth articles about things to do when you visit, profiles of local chefs and shop owners, and beautiful photography that takes you out on the water, onto the trails and into the food and music festivals.
