Join the Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuge on the first Saturday of each month for Service Saturdays, an opportunity to preserve, protect and enjoy nature. The work includes clearing trails, picking up downed limbs and general cleanup at designated refuge areas of the Southeast Louisiana National Wildlife Refuges Complex. If you are looking for volunteer hours for an organization you belong to, or just want to get out of the house and contribute, this may be for you.

Volunteers work from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and will be provided with all tools. Please wear closed-toe shoes and outdoor clothing. Beverages and light snacks will be provided. Volunteers under 18 years of age will require a parent-signed volunteer form before work begins. If under age 16, volunteers must be accompanied by an adult.

Volunteers for Big Branch Marsh service days meet at the Bayou Lacombe Visitor Center, 61389 Hwy 434 in Lacombe. Service days may be held at other refuges. For more information, please RSVP to lwrfriends@gmail.com.
