The Children’s Museum of St. Tammany (CMST) is inviting young explorers to experience St. Tammany Parish in a whole new way with its newest exhibit, “Get Local with Visit The Northshore,” now open inside the Get Global Gallery.

This interactive exhibit features a vibrant St. Tammany Trace map designed to encourage hands-on exploration. Created by artist and publisher Ron Barthet of Community Souvenir Maps, the installation allows children to use magnetic pieces to travel across the map using different modes of transportation—bringing the Northshore’s communities and attractions to life through play.

The “Get Local” exhibit highlights the beauty, culture, and accessibility of St. Tammany Parish while inspiring children to connect with their local surroundings in a fun and meaningful way.

“We are grateful to Visit The Northshore for making this exhibit possible,” said Marlo Christensen, Director of Marketing and Business Development at the Children’s Museum of St. Tammany. “This collaboration just made sense to inspire the children of our parish to get local and to learn through play about all our beautiful parish has to offer.”

Located in Pelican Plaza at 813 Florida Street, Suite A in Mandeville, the Children’s Museum of St. Tammany provides an interactive learning environment focused on creativity, discovery, and early childhood development.

Hours of Operation:
Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Closed Mondays

In addition to hands-on exhibits, CMST offers birthday parties, field trips, corporate and community events, and annual membership opportunities.

The museum’s mission is to inspire children to explore, discover, imagine, and create through interactive experiences focused on STEM, early learning, and the arts.

Visitors and media are invited to stop by and experience this new exhibit firsthand.
